Our Opponents: Texas Automobile Dealer's Association

You might have heard some scary talking points about Tesla from the auto dealers. We’d like to set the record straight.

Take Action

In Texas, there are outdated laws on the books that ban consumers from buying cars directly from manufacturers like GM or Toyota. In our state, you must purchase your vehicle at an auto dealership.

This regulatory system prevents open competition and is perpetuated by the car dealers who benefit financially from it. The only thing these regulations do now is prevent innovation from occurring in the marketplace that would improve the car buying experience and bring prices down for consumers.

Auto-dealers in Texas are a powerful force, and they’re good at spreading misinformation about Tesla and our products. To learn the TRUTH about Tesla and our mission, click through the “Myth” cards below.
